We are currently recruiting a Groundworks Manager in Leeds to lead and manage the delivery of Groundwork projects in the Northeast Region.

As a Groundworks Manager you will be responsible for managing a multi-disciplined team of contractors, consultants, and internal personnel from inception through to conclusion of Groundworks projects. You will be responsible for all component elements, Financial, Contractual, Programming, Pre-Construction Planning, Health and Safety and Project Management.

Role Details

  • Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
  • Role based: Leeds, LS12 6LZ
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Annual leave: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Role Responsibilities

*         Assist Hire Centre teams in generating orders by attending client sites and producing/managing tender submissions including Groundwork’s quotations, Scope of Works, and other supporting documents to ensure proposals are accurate, value engineered and fit for purpose.

*         In conjunction with the project team, manage the pre-construction planning of projects taking ownership of Groundworks related requirements including but not limited to, site set up, contractor appointment, programming, health & safety plan, and confirming/distributing scope of works, drawings & associated documentation to parties as required.

*         Be responsible for overall project management within Groundworks including communicating with England and Wales Hire Project teams, external clients and contractors/consultants as required and work closely with the Site Groundworks Controller to ensure risks are identified and mitigated in a timely manner and delivery requirements are met.

*         Ensure the Portakabin commercial position is robust by obtaining multiple quotations when necessary and appraising contractors returns to demonstrate compliance with the opportunity requirements and value for money.

  • Promote a Zero Harm environment of proactive Health and Safety management by ensuring safe working and giving consideration to health and wellbeing. Ensure that all projects are planned/managed, and contractors act in accordance with the requirements of applicable legislation & regulations along with industry approved codes of practice and Portakabin Site Operations Manual.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

*         Full UK driving licence

*         GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above

*         Previous experience in a construction project related role

*         Proven experience in managing Health & Safety within a construction environment

*         Gains clear agreement and commitment from others by persuading, convincing and negotiating

*         Produces workable solutions to a range of problems

*         Proficient at interpreting / recording client requirements and planning actions to deliver
