As a Chargehand in our London West Hire & Service Centre, you will join a fast-paced and dedicated team. You will supervise, motivate, and organise the operations team to achieve the delivery of a quality product. This includes supporting the management of the fitting out /refurbishment, install /dismantle of Hire Fleet buildings and ongoing maintenance /suitability of facilities at the Hire & Service centre.

 

You will play an important role in supporting exciting and high-profile projects. We are proud of our success on Kensington Aldridge Academy, estimated at approx. 7,500m2 and is known as the fastest school ever built! This was an unprecedented project from start to finish and took a record-breaking nine weeks to build.

 

We are looking for a Chargehand who lives within a local proximity of Hayes (UB3 1DY). You will be supporting projects, rectifications and company vans are available to our team whilst traveling to and from sites.

 

Role Details:

  • This is a permanent role, working 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 07:45 to 16:30 and finishing early on Friday at 15:30 (inclusive of lunch breaks). Overtime is regularly available at an additional premium rate of £22.85 per hour and will considerably increase annual earnings.

  • Starting salary: £16.80 per hour /£34,070.40 p.a

  • Opportunity to earn an additional £0.25-£4.21 per hour based on skill set and behaviours, which will considerably increase annual earnings.

Your role will involve:

  • Support the management team to ensure operational best practice is followed and excellent customer service is always delivered.

  • Ensure that all works undertaken are maintained by effective cost control, meeting or improving upon planned costs and working within agreed timescales.

  • Ensure the operations team and Hire & Service Centre comply with all Health and Safety legislation, codes of practice, industry guidelines and Company procedures.

  • Maintain and complete records of tracking work activity for all buildings daily.

  • Ensure accuracy of building allocation paperwork such as drawings and specifications, to the agreed fitout specification.

These skills are essential:

  • Valid UK Driving License.

  • Practical operational experience ideally in construction related roles and proven experience of managing health and safety within construction working environments.

  • A solid understanding of Microsoft software packages including Outlook and Excel.
