Location: National Role – You can be located anywhere in England & Wales - You will thrive off leading a team and engaging with internal and external stakeholders across a large geographic area to secure orders and deliver projects as part of GB Hire. The role includes the flexibility to stay over at locations.

 

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Construction Services Business Manager to join our successful GB Hire team, nationwide. This role is a new role and therefore an excellent opportunity for someone to develop the role, make it your own and create an impact on the business going forward. You will have the passion and drive to shape this role, to make it your own and positively lead for the business opportunities and goals.

To lead a regionally based Construction Services business in achieving business targets and delivering against its objective to support GB Hire order winning / project delivery.

This position has responsibility for overseeing a multi-disciplinary team of internal personnel and supply chain stakeholders to secure and deliver multiple aspects of construction projects totalling circa £10m value, whilst developing and implementing a strategy to ensure the Construction Services’ team is an integral part of the division’s regional commercial and project delivery functions.

The Construction Services Business Manager role requires a proactive and solutions based professional with an enthusiastic, results driven and strategic approach to managing and developing personnel, planning and implementing change, in addition to developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

As a, Construction Services Business Manager you will:

*         Lead and manage a team that will execute multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.

*         Lead the Construction Services regional team in supporting and advising Hire centres to maximise order winning potential and manage profitability. Ensure Construction Services commercial propositions are tailored to support divisional work winning, whilst managing commercial risk. Develop and implement innovative solutions to deliver commercial growth.

*         Lead a positive Health and Safety culture by taking a management responsibility for safe working, ensuring that consideration for health and wellbeing are at the forefront of planning and operations.

*         Report on business performance to Senior Management Team and Finance Team as applicable.

*         Drive the effective use of sub-contractors associated with survey, designs or installation works the installation of products or services so that agreed budget levels, variations and margins are achieved by effective subcontractor pricing negotiations.

 

Essential Criteria

*         Experience of leading and managing teams, including coaching to deliver operational goals, preferably in a construction related environment.

*         Experience negotiating and develop strategies with subcontractors to improve pricing and ways of working to build true partnerships.

*         Experience engaging and collaborating with commercial, projects and regional management teams across area of responsibility, the role holder will promote an environment of effective teamwork and communication.

*         Can demonstrates commercial & financial awareness in relation to risk management, cost control and added value.

*         Can demonstrate a growth mindset approach to management and lead “Our Approach” by example.

*         Experienced at managing, forecasting and reporting business KPI information (commercial, financial & operational)

*         Demonstrable experience of working independently to deliver strategic objectives

*         Gathers comprehensive information to support decision making Makes prompt clear decisions which may involve tough choices or considered risks

*         Listens, consults others and communicates to proactively develop and implement solutions to challenges

         Full UK driving license – You will be traveling all over the nation.*
