We are looking for an experienced Electrician to join our Hire Centre in Bridgewater. In this role you will be responsible for refurbishing and fit outs of the complete Portakabin buildings range to the highest possible standards, specialising in electrical work. As well as aftersales and rectification work.

 

Role Details

  • Hourly Rate: £15.32 per hour plus rate of up to £4.53 per hour, based on skill set and behaviours
  • Role based: Bridgewater Hire Centre, Bennett Road, Highbridge, TA9 4PW
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Annual leave: 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays

Role Responsibilities

  • Conduct fault finding and undertake rectifications of existing systems both on and off site.
  • Understanding and applying the electrical principles and works associated with the design, building, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Ensure compliance relevant Health and Safety practices and all applicable legislation to encourage and maintain zero harm environment and culture.
  • Assist in the general fitting out and refurbishment of Portakabin buildings both on and off site where required.
  • To support on supplementary process-based tasks where required, that may not be directly electrical related. Including the installation and terminations of building works.
  • Individual responsibility for ensuring workmanship quality adheres to technical specifications in place and divisional standards.
  • Apply lean principles and techniques to help and contribute to your team delivering and exceeding our KPI targets.
  • Design and install electrical systems incorporating all types of electrical materials, ensuring that all installations meet current regulations.
  • Ensure that all buildings are tested to the required standards, including the completion of appropriate documentation/certification where applicable.
  • As applicable assume responsibility as the qualified supervisor and therefore oversee all testing requirements for the Hire Centre.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in order to maximise their use and prolonged life.
  • Ensure reconditioned fittings and materials are utilised as a priority without compromising quality.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship Scheme / Indentures (or AM2) & City & Guilds 2360 or NVQ Level 3 electrical installation,
  • City & Guilds 2380/2381 (IEE Wiring Regs - 18th Edition) or JIB Card - Electrician (Must include IEE Wiring Regs 18th Edition),
  • Full driving license
  • City & Guilds 2395 Inspection, Testing and Certification – desirable,
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent grade),
  • Good organisation & planning skills
