We’re looking for a Groundworks Supervisor to effectively manage projects and site operations for our Groundworks division across the East of England. Based at our Peterborough site this role covers projects across the region.

As a Groundworks Supervisor you will ensure the successful delivery of site works on Groundworks Projects and will be responsible for the proactive management of HSE, site operations, quality & scope compliance, regulatory adherence and temporary works.  This role is remote and the location is flexible although ideally you will be based from our Peterborough site.

Role Details 

  • Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 plus 5% OTE Bonus
  • Role based: Peterborough, PE4 5ET (Flexible) 
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays

Role Responsibilities

*        Supervise contractors and manage/coordinate site works to successfully deliver the groundworks scope to required standards in accordance with the requirements of applicable legislation & regulations (e.g. HASWA 1974, CDM Regulations 2015). 

*        Carry out site audits/inspections and issue progress reports.

*        Monitor resource levels and progress against programme, flag issues with stakeholders and manage appropriate actions.

*        Work collaboratively with all members of the Groundworks team to protect and enhance project income and margin.

*        Assist with expanding Portakabin’s Groundworks supplier database through the sourcing of potential new subcontractors.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

*         GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 /equivalent or above. 

*         Full UK driving licence. 

*         Solid understanding of various software packages including MS Excel and PowerPoint. 

*         Strong experience in construction related roles with a broad knowledge of construction relating to Groundworks. Including materials, trades, H&S related considerations, building methods and legal requirements. 

*         Experience of Site project supervision/management 

*         Proven competence in interpreting construction information (surveys, drawings, specifications and the like). 

*         Proven experience of managing health and safety relating to Site Operations (to include preparation of RAMS).
