Location: UK wide

 

Join us as Head of Operations within the GB Hire business. You'll be part of the senior leadership team, steering strategy and efficiency for our £200m GB Hire business across 19 sites.

We are looking for a colleague with a Commercial mindset, who can win hearts and minds in our business and those of our clients. You will drive divisional operational strategy, identifying opportunities for growth and for operational improvements and driving operational efficiency, safety & sustainability initiatives in order to grow EBITDA and deliver quality products and services for our customers.

The Role:

As the Head of Operations, you will:

  • Develop and implement an operational strategy to deliver quality products and services.
  • Ensure a positive Health and Safety culture and promote sustainability initiatives.
  • Identify and drive operational improvements to improve responsiveness of our Hire Centre operations in order to better support work winning.
  • Lead the regional service teams in order to drive improvements in refurbishment and rectification activities and increase re-use of capitalised fit-out.
  • Manage the efficient operation of the national fleet of hire buildings and operational Hire Centre yards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Portakabin to align processes with company standards.
  • Develop tools to optimise operational throughput on a regional and national level.
  • Work closely with the Head of Commercial and Head of Major Projects to support order winning and project delivery.
  • Forge strong relationships with the Finance team for accurate forecasting and cost management.

Our ideal candidate:

To excel as the Head of Operations, you should have:

  • Demonstrable experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level.
  • Solid understanding of operational processes and strategies.
  • Commercial understanding of budgeting, governance, and strategic planning.
  • Experience in using data to improve performance and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and drive new initiatives.
  • A full UK driving licence
  • A degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
