An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Multiskilled Operatives to join our Portakabin Scotland team in Uphall. Reporting into the Service Manager the successful candidates will work on Portakabin buildings ensuring high standards of compliance with quality, technical specification, customer service and environmental requirements whilst ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental issues are prioritised and facilitated. The role will involve assisting in the fit out, refurbishment, installation and dismantling of modular buildings. 

Role Details 

  • Salary: £27,000 - £28,500 per annum
  • Role based: Uphall, EH52 5NT
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist all trades working on Portakabin buildings, ensure all work areas are clean and tidy to achieve a safe working environment and a orderly standard
  • Be thorough in the separation and segregation of waste to meet environmental requirements.
  • Ensure buildings are cleaned to the required standard before they are despatched.
  • Assist in the safe movement of vehicles both on and off site as required.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in order to maximise their use and prolonged life.
  • Work effectively as part of a team with all internal customers to ensure timescales for completing work are achieved and quality standards reached.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislation, codes of practice, industry guidelines and/or Company Procedures/Policies relating to health and safety, inclusive of COSHH.
  • Ensure fittings and materials are utilised as a priority without compromising quality.
  • Support continuous improvement to help efficiencies and promote better ways to carry out tasks
  • Travel to client sites across Scotland on an ad hoc basis with requirements for some overnight stays.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience working in the Construction industry, preferably Modular Construction
  • Experience in Joinery, Plumbing or Painting
  • The ability to make decisions and solve problems
  • A strong understanding of Health and Safety
  • Basic IT Skills
  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English
