We are looking for an HR Ops Manager to join the Portakabin HR team in York.

This pivotal role will provide day to day operational supervision of the HR Advisory Team.  

You will be the escalation point for key aspects of employee relations, ensuring efficient and effective people services are provided. 

As an integral part of the team, you will be supporting the delivery and implementation of the wider HR strategy, playing a key part in the continued growth and success of the Portakabin business.

  • Contract type: Permanent

Role Responsibilities

  • Effective line management of HR Advisers to deliver an effective and proactive people service, triaging employee relations queries amongst the team.
  • Be the point of escalation to provide expert ER advice, guidance, and support, ensuring all matters are dealt with fairly and consistently to achieve the best possible outcome, and minimise risk.
  • Supervise and support the HR Advisor Team to provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on all aspects of employee relations.
  • Support the team and stakeholders with the application of people policies and practices to ensure they are fairly and consistently applied, providing advice and guidance on complex legal and people issues.
  • Support the team to increase line manager capability and performance in dealing with employee relations through workshops and training.
  • Review and update People & Culture policies so they meet legal compliance and best practice.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of service delivery and workforce data/ KPIs to identify trends and improve service delivery.
  • Communicate effectively and keep key stakeholders updated on employee relations matters.
  • Support with wider People team projects including Talent, Reward & Learning

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has: 

  • Proven experience as a HRBP, HR Manager, or Senior HR Advisor 
  • Knowledge of employment law with the ability to implement that knowledge to resolve workplace issues. 
  • Evidential knowledge of HR policies and procedure 
  • Demonstrable knowledge and ability to analyse risks, make good judgements, solve problems & provide trusted advice. 
  • CIPD qualification (level 7).
