Role: Service Manager
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Company car
Location: Castleford
The role of the Service Manager is a hands on role. We are looking for manager who has a passion for managing a team, delivering excellent internal and external customer service and role models our Company values.
This role is accountable for the service delivery and management of the designated Portaloo Centre in Castleford, whilst also managing 2 staff in Lingfield. Closely managing cost and stock and ensuring close communication with counterparts based at Hire Centres in the Division to deliver buildings to the required standard.
The role shall lead on all aspects of Health and Safety within the area of responsibility and will ensure operational best practice is followed and excellent customer service is delivered at all times.
Working alongside project and commercials teams, the role holder will promote an environment of effective teamwork and communication.
As an Service Manager, you will:
* Manage material, labour and sub-contract costs
* Ensure the operations team comply with all legislation, codes of practice, industry guidelines and/or Company procedures/policies relating to Health and Safety, driving a ‘Zero Harm’ culture.
* Liaise with other Hire Centre’s, Head Office and Manufacturing on various issues and clarification on details on stock, materials, processes and procedures.
* Management responsibility of direct reports, including recruitment in line with Portakabin procedures identifying training and development opportunities, conducting meaningful performance conversations, merit reviews and authorising payroll.
* Accountable for the sites stock control to ensure a reliable, steady and cost effective supply of materials and buildings/products. Ensuring effective rotation of parts stock to avoid deterioration and achieve optimum availability.
* Manage the rotation of buildings/products to avoid deterioration and to achieve optimum availability.
* Ensure that the refurbishment of Portakabin Buildings/Products are to the standard required and costs are within established parameters and budgets. Ensuring that all laid down Quality systems e.g. ISO 9001 are adhered to and workmanship quality adheres to technical specifications in place and divisional standards.
Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
* Has GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade 4 or above
* SMSTS or equivalent
* Controls costs and thinks in terms of profit, loss and added value
* Monitors performance against deadlines and milestones
* Strong operational management experience ideally in construction related roles
* Proven experience of managing health and safety within construction working environments
* Strong demonstrable experience in team management
* Full UK Driving licence
